The Bible
The Christian Bible in its entirety (Old/New Testaments) originated with God who inspired it through his chosen human instruments. Scripture thus speaks w/the authority of God. Scriptures are infallible & inerrant in the original manuscripts and, when correctly interpreted, are trustworthy and fully truthful in all they teach. They are the unique, full, and final authority on all matters of faith and practice; there are no other writings similarly inspired by God.
God
There is only one living, true, and holy God, eternally existing in three persons Father, Son, and Holy Spirit each of whom possesses equally all the attributes of deity and the characteristics of personality. God is the creator and preserver of all things, infinite in being and perfection. By his sovereign power he continues to sustain his creation. By his providence he is operating throughout history to fulfill his redemptive purposes.
Christ
Jesus Christ is true God & true man. He is the eternal 2nd person of the Trinity who was united forever with a true human nature by a miraculous conception and virgin birth. He lived a life of perfect obedience to God the Father & voluntarily atoned for the sins of all people by dying on the cross as their substitute, thus satisfying divine justice and securing salvation for all who would trust in him alone. He rose from the dead in the same body, though now glorified, in which he lived and died. He ascended into heaven where he intercedes for his people and rules as Lord of all creation. He will come again to earth, personally & visibly to consummate his sovereign rule and the eternal plan of God.
Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the 3rd person of the Trinity. He was sent into the world by the Father &the Son to apply to humanity the saving work of Christ. He enlightens the minds of sinners, awakens in them a recognition of the need of a Savior, and regenerates those who believe. At the point of salvation, he indwells every believer to become the source of their assurance, strength, and wisdom, and he uniquely endows each believer w/ gifts for the building up of the body of Christ. The Holy Spirit guides believers in understanding & applying the truths of Scripture. His power and control are appropriated by faith, making believers able to lead lives of Christlike character and to bear fruit to the glory of the Father.
Salvation
Salvation is wholly the work of God's free grace, not the result, in whole or in part, of human works or goodness. God offers salvation to people on the basis of Jesus' death on the cross in payment for sin. Jesus triumphed over death in his resurrection and now occupies his position of exaltation at God's right hand. To obtain salvation a person must repent of sin, trust in Jesus alone as Savior, and acknowledge the risen Christ as Lord of his or her life (Romans 10:9-10; John 1:12; 3:16).
